Public outreach

I am very passionate about public outreach, which I see as every scientist’s responsibility to engage in. I’ve participated in countless one-off outreach events (fastidiously enumerated on my CV) and organized almost a dozen events and ongoing programs. I’ve highlighted just a few below.

Astronomy on Tap: Chicago

Astronomy on Tap is an international outreach organization, I was the leader of the Chicago chapter!



Dearborn Observatory

The Dearborn Observatory has brought the night sky to Evanston since 1890! I help staff the observing and public talk programs.



CIERA Pathfinders

Pathfinders are educational brochures for handing out at related outreach events. They were my idea and I'm the editor-in-chief!



Adler Planetarium

I do a lot of outreach with the Adler Planetarium, where I have a visiting researcher affiliation.



Astronomy LIVE

I was one of the main organizers for Astronomy LIVE, our COVID virtual livestream, check it out on Youtube!
