Big Picture

About Me

I wear many hats, and I enjoy working on all kinds of challenging and innovative projects.

Full-Stack Data Science

Experienced in building applications from start to start to finish; from data reduction to user-facing application.

Data Visualization

Expert in creating interactive visualizations powered by large datasets.

Communication

Passionate about storytelling and using data visualization to communicate complex concepts to any audience.

What I'm Currently Doing

Currently, I support NASA's Earth Information Center, as a member of NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, building interactive visualization applications for communicating climate data and NASA's Earth Science Mission.

Skills & Languages I Speak

    Python
    C, CUDA
    JavaScript
    (React, Node.js)
    Data Visualization
    (D3, Three.js)

Projects & Portfolio

Earth.gov

Public-facing interagency data portal for high-level actionable datasets.

Firefly

Firefly is a cutting-edge 3D browser-based, interactive, data visualization software designed for tens of millions of datapoints.

Eclipse Explorer

The 2023 Eclipse Explorer is an interactive web map that allows users to track the annular solar eclipse that occurred on 10/14/2023 over the United States.

Climate Legacies

Interactive visualization of the generational divide in climate impacts.

WIND

WIND is a CUDA library I built to numerically integrate stiff systems of coupled ODEs-- in particular interstellar chemical abundance networks.

Firefly Gaia DR3

Designed a massively parallel algorithm and progressive rendering scheme to visualize all 1.5 billion+ stars observed by the Gaia satellite.

FIRE Studio

A visualization package I created to streamline the process of producing publication-quality images of galaxy formation simulation data.

Supernova Clustering

Built a statistical model to understand and simplify the results of our supercomputer simulation and apply them in other contexts at less (computational) cost.

Stellar Feedback

Everyone knows about the sun, fewer people know where it came from and how other stars might've influenced its formation.

Mentorship Network

Designed and implemented a framework using network graph theory for optimizing mentor-mentee assignments into a complex hierarchical social network.
